I went there to check out all the interior design/ and furniture show..
My roommate is thinking of re - do the kitchen and bathroom, so it was the great opportunity to check out the hottest interior designer's works. The show was huge and i was there about 2 hours and couldn't even look all the works..
and i told them that i was a students who is studying in design and they gave me much of catalogs to take.
i was so impressed especially James Perse's furniture works. He is known as a fashion designer but apparently he does interior designs too. ~
it was such a thrill to see all the amazing furnitures and textiles that they use.. I got a lot of inspirations for my fashion studies ~
I'm definitely going back again to check out again !

Exhibition of Rodarte's costumes from the Movie "Black Swan"
During Spring break I went to Rodarte's exhibition in MOCA.
They displayed the costumes from the movie Black Swan.
the exhibition was just too small and there were just 10 garments...
It was little disappointed.. seems like students work and just bunch of fabrics and trims are sewn up together..
well and they didn't let me take any of photos.. (well there weren't much to take photos anyway..)
here is some pictures from online and this is actually all to look at.. its free but if you live far away.. don't waste your gas to visit...

A lot of color.. coral and mulberry seems out there.. tied dye and floral prints... Ruffle details..Jersey Knit, chiffon, and silk seems are in for summer.
Picture is better than 1000 words.. I believe so i cheated ! and took some pictures secretly..

History of Costume Exhibition
I went to history of costume exhibition in LACMA Mar. 27th.
The exhibition was about the royal historical costume in 1700s to late 1800s.
It was just so impressive that there is no limit on human craftsmanship... how could people back in the days without all the technology could create these amazing garments ?!
All the exotic textiles, trims, and how all these garments are sewn together...
I also admired that even in old days women do anything to do follow the trend no matter how hard it takes !
